Pryor To Hold Additional Tele-Town Hall Meetings

WASHINGTON D.C. – Senator Mark Pryor today said he is holding six additional town hall meetings over the phone in response to a high demand of Arkansans who want to discuss health care reform, the economy, climate change and other issues affecting their communities.

Pryor said health care reform has been a hot topic as he has traveled the state during August, including during meetings he held last week in Fayetteville, Ft. Smith, Rogers, Camden, Texarkana and Little Rock. In addition, Pryor reached more than 45,000 Arkansans last week during two Tele-Town Hall meetings. Participants primarily shared concerns about health care reform, but also asked Pryor about a wide range of issues, including climate change, the economy, and the nation’s debt.

“Arkansans have a lot to say about what’s going on in Washington, DC, and I want to hear from them. That’s why I’ll be spending my August traveling throughout the state to meet with a variety of organizations and communities,” Pryor said. “In addition, town hall meetings over the phone allow individuals from all over the state to voice their concerns from the comfort of their own homes. Since I’ve been conducting these phone conversations over the past year, I heard very positive feedback from Arkansans who can’t take off time from work or travel to a meeting, and they appreciate the opportunity to share their views or concerns. I am grateful for their feedback and questions too.”

Pryor will hold the following Tele-Town Hall meetings, which are open to all Arkansans.
